Why would you buy food flown half way around the world, when there’s something as good (and often better) being made just around the corner? This was the question we asked ourselves in 2010 and the answer was simple – you don’t know about these great local producers.
At Artisan Foods we’re passionate about the fantastic local products made right here, in New Zealand, however many producers simply don’t have the resources to get their products further than the local farmers market; that’s where we come in. We’re also great at building local communities, a good example being onwaiheke.nz
We have met many amazing artisan producers at farmers markets and food shows around the country, and there seem to be some common challenges:
- Not knowing where to start promoting their products
- Thinking a website or online presence may be “an expensive waste of time”
- Viewing social media as wasted effort, which “is just too hard”
These are areas we are specialists in; not only can we show you the value they bring, but also that they needn’t be expensive or time intensive.
